MeeGo: A solid platform for hackable mobile devices

MeeGo is an open source, openly developed and straightforward mobile Linux stack. And the platform is hardware agnostic too - very easy to port to devices too! And instead of working on many different platform implementations for each hardware adaptation, we can focus on improving a common platform within those issues where it matters and concentrate on hardware specific problems within the hardware adaptation.

The themes intended to be explored in this talk, including some real-life examples of the problems identified:

  • What the MeeGo platform consists of and how you can contribute to it
  • The common traps and challenges in porting - what usually goes wrong in hardware ports in the short and long term?
  • Requirements process, compliance and automated tests in MeeGo - why the bureaucracy?
  • Practical hardware adaptation in MeeGo - information sources and community - where do I find it?

Next (up to 3) talks in the same room (Lameere):
