Oleg Ivanov
Oleg Ivanov is an R&D engineer. During his work for Postgres Professional (from 2015 till 2018), he invented Adaptive Query Optimization, a technique that solves some of the major problems of conventional query optimization using machine learning. Although AQO is already in production, there are still many ideas on using machine learning within the existing AQO framework to improve query optimization further. Now Oleg works at Samsung AI Center on other projects and supervises students involved in the further study of AQO.
