In the ever-evolving landscape of network traffic monitoring and processing, the need for high-performance, flexible, and scalable solutions is critical. This talk explores how BlueField DPU-based SuperNICs, coupled with NVIDIA's DOCA Flow framework, offer a powerful platform for achieving these goals. We will delve into the architecture and capabilities of BlueField SmartNICs, demonstrating their potential (and limitations) when offloading tasks such as network traffic processing, inline security applications, traffic shaping. Shifting these workloads to the adapter is desirable as it frees up host resources, and enables more efficient and scalable network operations.
