I studied computer science at ULB, where I also got to spend some time at UrLab, the local hackerspace. This is where I first got into embedded software and picked up some digital electronics skills (sometimes the hard way). During that time, I also enjoyed collaborating with artists on their digital projects. Free and Open Source software has always been a major component of our adventures there.
After that, I joined an IoT company in the rail industry, working as “the software guy on the hardware team”. I've been busy with embedded Linux development, integrating features with FPGAs, microcontrollers, and other peripherals; as well as backend work like device management servers and data processing with Python, Django, and SQL. During that time, I had the occasion to contribute some patches to Buildroot, and some other minor contributions elsewhere when I could.
I am now working mostly as a backend developer, while still keeping an edge into embedded development for my hobbies projects. Over the last years, I enjoyed tinkering with Zephyr RTOS, where I upstreamed a patch or two.
