Kurt Garloff
Kurt Garloff -- educated as physicist -- has worked on Open Source since the 90s. Fascinated by the Linux kernel technology at first, his focus changed a bit being inspired to work with brilliant people globally and contributing to democratizing access to and control of technology.
He lead the growth of SUSE Labs and later complemented technical leadership with strategic and business leadership functions in SUSE, supported by HBS training. Since 2011, his focus has been on open cloud technology and he lead departments at Deutsche Telekom and later was the chief architect of Open Telekom Cloud at T-Systems.
Since early 2020, he has been working with a growing team on a standardized, open technology stack to enable and to network operators to jointly provide large, federated cloud & container infrastructure. He does this as CTO of the Sovereign Cloud Stack (SCS) project at the Open Source Business Alliance with funding from the BMWK (German Ministry of Economy and Climate Action).
