Vivien Barnier
Vivien, a renewable energies engineer by education, has more than nine years of professional experience in the renewable energy sector for the Global South. He has extensively worked in the planning, implementation, operation, policy, and regulation of mini-grid projects in sub-Saharan Africa. As such, he has lived and faced the challenges of operating in deep, remote areas and felt the importance but also the technical and practical limitations in the use of digital tools in electrification projects. He has advised developers, invaders, agencies, and governments on setting up rural electrification programs. At EnAccess, Vivien leads a team of highly skilled experts that supports, co-develops, and promotes open-source projects (software & hardware) to expedite the implementation of decentralized energy systems and erase sectors' inefficiencies to achieve universal access to energy faster. Open Access, collaboration, and knowledge sharing are Vivien’s core mission with EnAccess.
