Payton Yau

Payton (Tung On) Yau is a Computational Scientist and the creator of OptSurvCutR, an R package for optimizing biomarker cutpoints in survival analysis.

With a dual background in Molecular Biology (PhD) and Computer Science (BSc), Payton specialises in bridging the gap between complex biological data and reproducible software solutions. His work focuses on:

Tool Development: Building robust R packages for biomarker discovery and genomic epidemiology.

One Health: Previously the Lead Bioinformatician for the UK Crop Microbiome CryoBank.

Open Science: Advocating for reproducible pipelines and open-access data standards.

Currently, he is a Lecturer & Research Mentor at LSST in London, exploring the intersection of Public Health surveillance and open-source software.
